Here are some interesting things that I’ve seen, heard, experienced etc...

I was talking to a guy my age one day and mentioned that I loved my kids. He proceeded to say that it was probably a feeling that a non-parent, like himself, couldn't possibly imagine. This got me thinking about my time before kids and whether or not I had ever experienced this feeling before kids. This was the closest description I could think of. When you see a baby or toddler do something cute, a involuntary smile hits your face and you can't help but feel a little part of your heart is touched. Now take that feeling and multiply that experience 100 times and that's more or less how I feel about my kids. PS for those of you that do not like children, please do not have kids because last time I checked 100 X 0 = 0 and no child should be brought up by a parent that doesn't care.

We have a new play-structure in our back yard. It's pretty big and has all the bells and whistles you could imagine. I love the fact that the kids are already climbing and going down in ways that the designers of the play structure probably never imagined. I haven't met a kid yet that hasn't tried to climb up a slide the wrong way. Hopefully my kids will not break too many bones but hey, injuries and poor decisions are part of growing up.
Sophie is off the cute charts. She's talking a bit with words like "Ma, Ma", "Ba, Ba", "Oh, Oh", and a series of non-descript screeches that she uses to improve her quality of life. An average meal in our house will be my wife and I trying to talk over supper while Juliette and Nicholas bug each other and Sophie screeches at the top of her lungs for something. Eventually the fighting gets to us and we threaten to send both of them to their room. Eventually Sophie's screeching gets to us as well and we turn to see what she wants. Usually she's pointing at what she wants and is pretty easy to satisfy. Of course her demands are pretty frequent so dinner are our house is pretty noisy. But I don't blame her; she's the youngest of three and as a result has to make 3 times as much noise than her siblings did at her age just to get attention. If nothing else, she should learn to get a good amount of determination.
