Camping with Kids

Well we had our first camping trip with the entire family last weekend including grandparents and it was a great time had by all.
Here are some of the highlights:
- Nicholas calling all juices"apple juice".
- Nicholas calling everything yellow when asked what color things were.
- Juliette sprinting faster than her mom to the campsite. That's impressive, at 4 years old she's already faster than her mom. Thank god she's got my speed.
- Nicholas, from a standing position, bending over and dipping his head in the lake.
- Juliette, swimming like a fish in the very cold lake without even a 2nd thought to it being too cold.
- Nicholas and Juliette, helping daddy collect firewood from the forest for the ridiculous fire that we had burning 24/7 while we were there.
- Mommy, finding tree segments too big for the fire pit that we burnt anyway.
- Juliette, swelling up like a cooked marshmallow every time a mosquito bit her.
- Juliette, telling scary stories around the campfire.
- Juliette, crying all of Sunday due to pain from canker sores on her tongue.
- Everyone, eating marshmallows by the fire.
- Juliette, grinding her teeth so that Pepere (who snores) complained he had trouble sleeping at night.
- Mommy, fishing as usual with Juliette but not caching anything worth keeping.
- Juliette and Nicholas, making enough bubbles for everyone on the beach.
Overall it was a smashing success. We were exhausted when we got home but it's nothing a little mid day nap didn't fix.
